Over the last week we have had much to celebrate. Firstly, Last Friday we celebrated World Teachers’ Day. We are truly blessed to have the calibre of staff here at OLSH who no doubt encompass the very essence of Living Our Lady’s Way. The caring and professional nature in which they go about their work is second to none and always welcomed by parents and community alike. They undoubtedly see their job as a vocation as they strive to offer the best possible education for our kids. As the saying goes, “It takes a village to raise a child’ and this little village of OLSH is one that I’m so very proud to be a part of. I’m sure you’ll join me in thanking our teachers for the unwavering contribution to OLSH, making it the wonderful school community we have.
This week we celebrated a new day in the calendar of OLSH. Every year, we celebrate our wonderful mothers and fathers with special days throughout the year in order to pay gratitude to the wonderful efforts they give in supporting our education and children. This year, we believed that we not only should we recognise the wonderful contribution of our parents, but our grandparents too. Therefore, Monday we invited our delightful grandparents to join us for a morning of activities, fun and enjoyment. What amazing memories were made, as we had a great number of grandparents attend, many of whom travelled long distances to be with their loved ones. The smiles on the faces of both children and grandparents spoke volumes of the connection they have and the pure joy that radiated throughout the morning. Thank you grandparents for joining us and sharing in such a momentous occasion.
Next week we have the OLSH Parish Fete taking place on Friday night from 6pm. This is one of our biggest fundraisers for the year and we’re looking forward to a fantastic evening. With everything from food stalls, kids rides, bar and even some special performances from the staff and kids, it will be a night to remember. Come along, bring your friends, and join in the fun.
