Welcome ...

Welcome to St Benedict's Catholic Primary School Yeppoon!

St Benedict's strives to awaken in its members a spirit of personal initiative and a disposition to care for each other, their community and society in general. We take Jesus Christ as our model and foundation, working as part of church to bring about the harmony, fulfilment and satisfaction we believe God intends for all people. It is part of the journey of discovery of all its members, providing opportunities to learn, to experience and to choose.

St Benedict's offers an academic education of the highest standard in an environment guided by Christian values. Our school will be a place where children learn by example from a committed faith community, consisting of staff, students and parents.

Please find below the respective times for the Easter Liturgies being celebrated within our Parish. I encourage you to join the Parish where possible for these important celebrations that are central to the Catholic faith and the liturgical life of the Catholic Church.

HOLY THURSDAY 29th March - 7.00pm Mass of the Lord’s Supper
GOOD FRIDAY 30th March - 3.00pm Friday of the Passion of the Lord
HOLY SATURDAY 31st March - 6.00pm Vigil Mass in the Holy Night
7.00am Easter Sunday - Resurrection of the Lord (Emu Park)
9.00am Easter Sunday - Resurrection of the Lord (Yeppoon)

Each morning this week classes have told and re-enacted the Stations of the Cross. The students also invited us to reflect on our own lives in relation to events depicted in the stations.

I sincerely thank the classes for their preparation and leadership of the reflections and to Mrs Langdon for her wonderful coordination of all the presentations and reflections.

Thank you to all our families for their very generous contributions to our Easter Raffle to support Caritas Australia. Your donations and the ticket sales have raised $889 – a truly superb effort, thank you! An additional $450 was raised through Thursday’s meal deal. Al total of $1339 – Magnificent!

Congratulations to Chloe who had been selected in the U11 Capricornia Netball team. Chloe will now compete at the State Championships at Carrara on the Gold Coast in June.
