Opening Hours

Monday to Friday 8.00 a.m – 2.00 p.m.

Students can use the library before school for book returns, borrowing, computers and/or quiet reading. The library is open every day at the first break after the children have eaten their lunch. At this time the library can be used as both a recreational and work space. Children may play board games, use the computers, draw and/or read.

The Collection

A wide range of resources are available to students. Our collection ranges from picture books for all ages, early reader chapter books, challenging novels for middle to upper primary students and non-fiction resources.

Borrowing Rules

  • Prep: 1 picture book
  • Yr 1: picture book (4th term increases to add an information book);
  • Yr 2: 2 books;
  • Yr3: 3 books;
  • Yr4: 3 books;
  • Yr5: 3 books;
  • Yr6: 4 books.

Books can be borrowed for two weeks including over the holidays except Christmas. (No borrowing over the Christmas break).

Care of Books

All books must be kept in a waterproof bag. Library bags specially made for St. Mary’s School can be purchased from the office for $8.00 each.

Overdue Books

Any student with an overdue book will be unable to borrow until their book is returned, or until parents/caregivers contact library staff.
